Should we make the topic Headings easier to understand?
People need to stay organized and on topic.
We shoud mimick the Everest forum.
Here are my initial suggestions

--Everest Ecommerce 3
--Everest Payroll 3
--Everest Reports 3

-Everest Advanced Version 2
--Everest Ecommerce 2
--Everest Payroll 2
--Everest Reports 2

-Everest Standard Versions
--Everest Ecommerce std
--Everest Payroll std
--Everest Reports std

Hardware configurations and setup
--Servers
--Internet
--Security

Comments on the company
--Good things to say
--Staying with Everest for now
--Looking to get another system
--Gave up and moved on
--Considering Legal options

Organisation

Postby Stu on Thu Jan 12, 2006 9:46 am

Hi,

May I sujest another Grouping of threads.

Everest Incidents

with sub folders of Version 2.01, 2.1, 3.0, 3.01 etc.

People could then copy issues in here / look here first. Then we can all be aware... I didn't want to clog up the Discussion group with telling people about an accounting problem (Everest can't add up)..

Cheers,

Stu

That is a good suggestion. It would be great to have a cross reference of Everest incidents so we could search by incident number.
Maybe we can add a field for incedent number so we can search by it or use the syntax incident:###### with no spaces so we can find it in the posts.
Anyone posting should also add the following to their body
Version:2.0.1 hotpatches:

Does anyone have any other thoughts on this proposed re-organization?

Yes...
it will become much user friendly.
If possible can even add up a section for error codes ... so that the user can directly go to that section and see ...

I like those currently suggested and would like to add.

1 . How about a section for freely discussing paid business opportunities surrounding Everest customisations, recommending vendors etc (and perhaps commercial dealings limited to only this section?)
2. A section for discussing regional customisations that non U.S based sites have had to go through.
3. A section for a wish list of new features, so when enough positive comments are reached about the suggestion the topic can be made sticky and perhaps shown to Icode so we don't get anymore 'no other customer would be interested in that' replies.
4. An Off topic posting area for displaced topics and general discussions not related to another topic.
5. Certainly an area specifically for communicating with Icode (management level) on customer relationship and business issues in an appropriate tone and manner - if they want to come to the party before everyone jumps ship.

I think having a forum for each Major version is a good thing. Easier to know where to ask questions or find answers.
